We compare the basic academic skills of mathematics with the comprehension of descriptive statistics in our charge subjects in each class using correlation analysis and multiple comparison. We clarify the motivation for statistics from the interest levels of statistics and the attendance reasons of the statistics-related subjects. We carry out the questionnaire survey before a beginning of the lecture. Moreover, we perform tests on basic mathematics, the midterm and final examinations. Especially, we do review tests into two classes that are not well-grounded in math every time. From these results, we consider the effects of the review tests and the factors of motivation for statistics related subjects.
